"Wonder-Woman", Ahed Al-Tamimi to Face Trial

Army Abducts Sixteen Palestinians In The West Bank

Ahed's mother, Nariman, also faces trial over her involvement in the slapping incident, in which she filmed Ahed with a cellphone camera calling on her fellow Palestinians to stab Israelis, throw rocks at them and offer themselves as suicide bombers in order to "liberate Palestine".

Outside court, Tamimi's lawyer Gaby Lasky said her client's family wanted the case to be heard in public, but the judge had ordered the numerous journalists present to be removed from the courtroom for the proceedings because she was a minor.

Ahed Tamimi has been incarcerated since she was arrested on December 19, four days after she was filmed confronting the soldiers outside her West Bank home.

Tamimi's Israeli lawyer said the family wanted the proceedings to be open and that the Israeli military was preventing scrutiny of the trial.

Tamimi, who has been incarcerated for almost two months, appeared to be in good spirits as she entered and whispered across the courtroom to her family.

Aheds lawyer accuses the military of breaking the United Nations convention on the rights of a child during her nighttime arrest and interrogation, during which she says Ahed was threatened. Her cousin, Nour, who also played a part in the incident has been charged with assault.

Roughly 300 Palestinian minors are as of now held in Israeli prisons, two of them in regulatory detainment, where no charges are given for their being held, as indicated by Israeli rights amass B'Tselem. The closed-door trial is based on 12 charges including those of aggravated assault and incitement.

The PCC said in a statement that most of those arrested are children under 18 years old and the raids were launched north of Jerusalem.

Harvey Weinstein And Movie Studio Sued By New York Attorney General
There was even a "bible" at TWC that assistants could consult that detailed Weinstein's preferences on many intimate matters. Charges were filed in the New York Supreme Court and include new and "extensive" allegations against Weinstein.

Tamimi has been hailed as a hero by Palestinians who see her as bravely standing up to Israel's occupation of the West Bank.

Over the years Ahed gained global attention for her fearless actions against Israeli occupation forces during protests and clashes in and around her village.

The video was recorded after Tamimi found out Israeli Defense Forces shot her cousin in the face with a rubber bullet, giving the boy severe wounds.

Two Israeli soldiers narrowly escaped today after they were attacked when they mistakenly drove into a Palestinian town in the occupied West Bank, the army said.

For many Palestinians, Tamimi is a symbol of resistance.

Her father, Bassem Tamimi, shouted: "Stay strong!"

This is not an "isolated case, " said Michael Lynk, special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian Territory on Tuesday. "We don't trust this court and we don't trust this system".

"The Israeli military supposes by arresting Ahed Tamimi they can silence their activism", said Fadi Quran, a senior campaigner with the activist group Avaaz.
