Peter Thiel reportedly sick of 'liberal' Silicon Valley

Peter Thiel is retreating from Silicon Valley's tech scene and moving to L.A

Thiel's political leanings came under fire from many in Silicon Valley following the U.S. presidential election, due to his open support for President Trump.

Mr Thiel, 50, recently considered giving up his director's seat at Facebook because of boardroom tension over his support for Mr Trump but made a decision to stay on, it was reported.

Thiel has gotten more disaffected with politics in a left-leaning Bay Area and more pessimistic about regulatory outcomes for tech businesses, sources told WSJ.

Billionaire venture capitalist and Trump supporter Peter Thiel is reducing his involvement in the tech industry and relocating his home and business firms from Silicon Valley to Los Angeles, according to a new report.

Fellow Facebook board member Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix, in a 2016 email called Thiel's support of Trump "mystifying" and "catastrophically bad judgment" and questioned whether he should remain on Facebook's board, the New York Times reported past year.

USA Today notes that drivers occasionally take the wrong exit and end up at the tightly guarded NSA gates. The FBI's Baltimore office said it had sent agents to the scene and that the incident had been contained.

Thiel Capital and Thiel Foundation plan to move their approximately 50 employees to Los Angeles, where they will continue to manage Thiel's personal holdings.

The hedge fund manager and PayPal co-founder could also step down from his role on the Facebook board, where he's been a director since 2005.

Thiel, who cofounded PayPal in 1999 with Elon Musk, has invested in some of Silicon Valley's biggest companies. He made a 1.25-million US dollars donation to help Trump and delivered a keynote speech at the Republican National Convention. "That's when you get in trouble politically in our society, when". He was the first outside investor in Facebook and made early-stage investments in Yelp, LinkedIn, and Quora.

Silicon Valley companies and tech workers overwhelmingly supported Democrat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.

In L.A., which is hardly a conservative haven, he could create a right-leaning media outlet, the Journal reports.
