Amsterdam police detain over 100 England fans

Footage of England fans belting out

"The sad fact is that the drunken mob's behaviour reinforces the negative stereotype of England supporters, and will impact on the treatment all fans can expect when they follow the team overseas".

Video footage on social media showed some fans throwing bottles at police and bicycles into Amsterdam's historic canals before the match in the Amsterdam Arena.

Jesse Lingard's first global goal secured the Three Lions a fully-deserved 1-0 win in Friday's World Cup warm-up friendly, but on-field success came with the cloud of off-field issues in Amsterdam.

An Amsterdam police spokesman told Press Association Sport: "We arrested 90 English people, mainly because they were disturbing the peace".

The incident took place when many fans disrespected the Dutch national anthem, before the England's 1-0 victory, the behavior manager Gareth Southgate described as "unacceptable".

"I think it's important that our fans come and enjoy the game, that they support us in the right way", Southgate said on Thursday evening.

The family owned company, which was founded the day before 9/11/2001, also received this message from YouTube about their content. A new policy modification on how the video-sharing giant monitors certain content featuring guns has some feeling the pressure.

Authorities have confirmed that nearly one hundred fans were arrested and held overnight for offences including public disorder.

The trouble in Amsterdam comes a year after unsavoury scenes marred England's friendly against Germany in Dortmund. "As was reiterated ahead of the fixture, we always urge supporters to respect our hosts and behave in a responsible manner", the statement read.

There were 27 members suspended in total for their behaviour in Dortmund, with a further six given written warnings while there remains one case pending.

And they have been in good voice as per, with Englishmen up and down the country gathering along the historic canals that wind their way through the city.

The FA said any of its members identified as causing trouble would be banned from the organisation.

'They attacked us for no reason.
