Israeli forces shoot dead another Palestinian

Ides of May

Israeli soldiers killed one Palestinian man and wounded dozens more during the protests.

A Palestinian protester was killed during clashes at the Gaza border today (Friday).

Israel's contentious new embassy in is high-profile, but it's no gleaming new building changing the ancient city's skyline.

Deifallah, who is unemployed, said he is not afraid to die. It said incendiary kites were also launched, some of which were intercepted by Israeli drones. "They need to kill every last one of us to change the facts".

In anticipation of the demonstrations this week, the army have begun reinforcing battalions along expected flash points in the Gaza Strip.

"Despite growing global criticism". Her brother was killed on the first day of the protests, said the 35-year-old woman, who gave her name only as Hanin, and she was anxious for the boy's safety.

Israel says, however, that the terror group uses the protests as a cover for attacks at the border and attempts to breach it.

Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has urged Israeli soldiers to refuse orders to open fire on the protesters.

The decision has enraged Palestinians, who want east Jerusalem, which Israel captured in the 1967 Mideast war, as capital of their future state.

Not only did Mr. Trump break from that by declaring Jerusalem to be Israel's capital, but he has also abandoned America's commitment to a two-state solution to the conflict that would involve the creation of a Palestinian state alongside Israel, a position that had been a bedrock of American policy for years.

Named the Great March of Return, the protest action revives a longstanding demand for the right of return of Palestinian refugees to towns and villages that their families fled or were driven out of when the state of Israel was created in 1948.

At least 15,000 Palestinians took part in Friday's protests in several locations along the Gaza-Israel border fence.

The "March of Return", a seven-week long stint of protests, are set to climax on Nakba Day.

Israeli forces responded with tear gas and live ammunition, according to Gaza's health ministry.

The Israeli military said about 15,000 people participated in the protests.

The Israeli and Egyptian governments enacted the blockade in 2007 after Islamic militant organizations overran the region.

Egypt opens the crossing from time to time, mainly to allow people in special categories, including medical patients and Gaza residents studying overseas, to leave the territory or return to it.

More than 2 million Palestinians are packed into the narrow coastal enclave of Gaza. Jordanian, Palestinian, and green Muslim Brotherhood flags flew over crowd.
