Theresa May: 'Donald Trump told me to sue the European Union over Brexit'

At their joint news conference at Chequers on Friday, the U.S. president confirmed that he had offered his thoughts on how she should approach the talks, but declined to go into detail. "Not go into negotiation, sue them".

Trump, who began a four-day visit to the United Kingdom on Thursday, will conclude the private leg of his tour in Scotland today to head to Finland for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki tomorrow.

Theresa May has revealed a piece of advice she ignored from US President Donald Trump.

Announcing his decision to his constituents in the Witney and West Oxfordshire constituency, Courts said he had taken the "very hard decision to resign" so he can express discontent in votes in the House of Commons Monday with the Brexit blueprint agreed at May's Chequers meeting.

Mr Baker said the public would eventually "know they've been betrayed", adding: 'If we spoil and wreck Brexit, which Chequers does, then we will get Jeremy Corbyn. Mr Trump claimed Mr Johnson would make a "great prime minister".

Mrs May also insisted that her controversial blueprint for Brexit represents a "good deal" for the UK.

The Prime Minister's allies are braced for a backlash over her Chequers plan for Britain's post-Brexit links to the European Union when MPs return to Westminster on Monday.

USA salmonella outbreak: 'Do not eat Honey Smacks,' shoppers told
The statement said salmonella strains had been found in both unopened and leftover samples of Honey Smacks at several locations. The CDC tweeted: "Do not eat this cereal". "Ill people range in age from less than one year to 95, with a median age of 57".

Boris Johnson, the former foreign minister, and David Davis, the former Brexit secretary, resigned over it, fueling speculation of a possible leadership challenge. "The prize is leaving the European Union in a way that's in our national interests", adding that she would see off any leadership challenge as she's "in this for the long term".

But he praised Mrs May as a "very tough negotiator" and described her as an "incredible woman" who is "doing a fantastic job".

Linking the fate of Brexit to her own survival in such an explicit way indicates just how precarious May's position remains after her government was thrust into crisis and U.S. President Donald Trump publicly criticised her Brexit strategy.

"Britain, in effect, would be entrapped and the more you think through the implications the more the whole thing looks less like a soft Brexit than a national humiliation", he wrote.

"The only solution is to take the final Brexit decision out of the hands of deadlocked politicians, away from the backroom deals, and give it back to the people", she said in an article for The Times.

"What Trump is saying [is] litigation is a weapon, it's a tool, it's when you go in hard, and I think what Donald Trump told her is that a deal like this has gotta be done hard, it's gotta be done fast, it's gotta be clean, and it can't take a long time", he explained.
