Should India trust Imran Khan's peace talk?

Pakistan and India begin construction of 'corridor of peace'

The comments came a day after Khan had underlined that Kashmir was the key dispute between India and Pakistan, and seemingly had drawn a contrast between Modi and Punjab Congress minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, stating that the latter was a politician willing to take risks. On the other hand, Imran was dismissive of observations that, despite all the positive talk, Pakistan is providing a safe harbour to terrorists such as Hafiz Saeed and Dawood Ibarhim.

"If the Indian government can not talk with Pakistan right now then we will try to initiate talks after the elections", he said.

Days before the ground-breaking ceremony, India complained to Pakistan about not allowing officials from its High Commission access to Indian pilgrims visiting Pakistan for the Guru Nanak birth anniversary.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday lauded the establishment of a vehicle manufacturing plant in partnership with the Chinese automobile firm JW Forland.

"The India I know - majority must be appreciating it", Khan told the Indian journalists who had arrived in Pakistan to cover the groundbreaking ceremony of the corridor.

"The more people meet, the more they realise how much in common we have, and what we are missing by not resolving our outstanding issues." he said.

Shortly after Prime Minister Imran Khan delivered a powerful speech on Wednesday after laying the foundation stone for a border crossing between India and Pakistan and using the opportunity to renew his call to resume stalled talks between the two nuclear-armed nations, New Delhi struck back and told Islamabad not to mistake the construction of the Kartarpur corridor as a step towards resumption of dialogue.

Michael Cohen pleads guilty to misleading Congress
Trump, saying: "This is one more example of one of the president's closest allies lying about their ties to Russia and Russians". But the project ultimately fizzled, Cohen told the committee, and Trump wasn't involved in the decision to abandon the project.

Sidhu said only leaders like Imran Khan can take the bull by horns.

Because there were so many U-Turns throughout these 100 days, be it about Atif Mian's appointment to the Economic Council or in the aftermath of Aasia Bibi's case, PTI made a decision to post an advertisement in today's newspaper that says 'Hum Masroof Thay', or "We've been busy" for the English language papers. "He should have obeyed his CM who asked him to reconsider his decision of going to Pakistan", India media quoted Tarun as saying.

"The US has chosen India as its strategic partner in this region and in this situation, we have to manage our relations", he said. According to him, the opening of Kartarpur corridor was one of the measures taken to improve bilateral ties.

However, days ahead, the Indian government cancelled talks with Pakistan following two "deeply disturbing" developments that led to Islamabad's "evil agenda" being exposed.

The idea to open the corridor has been floated around since the 1980s, never coming to fruition due to the tumultuous relationship between the two nuclear armed South Asian neighbors.

"The premier said that Pakistan will continue to urge for holding talks in order to resolve issues between the two countries".
